Wade O’Neill, CPA, CA

Wade obtained his CA designation in 2008 and never looked back. Wade has over ten years of public practice experience, and a passion for helping owner-managers achieve their personal and financial goals. Wade is always looking forward to meeting new business owners and forging strong relationships.

Wade graduated from the University of Alberta in 2004, where he studied both accounting and creative writing. This unique marriage has given Wade, not only the strong financial and analytical skills one expects from a Chartered Professional Accountant, but also a writing prowess that is beyond compare. A master of literary devices, puns and wordplay, Wade harnesses a wit even sharper than those knives advertised on late-night infomercials.

In a past life, Wade was a stand up comedian, having performed at the Comic Strip, Laugh Shop, and other venues. He is also an amateur filmmaker, owning professional film equipment and editing software. His short films have upwards of one hundred views on some websites, and cover a variety of topics, including hockey, horticulture, and Hot ‘n’ Ready pizza. His 2015 entry into the Edmonton International Film Festival's 24/One contest made the Judges' Top 10 and was screened in front of a bemused theatre audience. He is also a four time winner of the Edmonton Story Slam.

Wade currently volunteers on the board of the Edmonton CPA Club, and chairs a meeting group of accounting practitioners with a similar focus on small-to-medium-sized businesses.
